“Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:6
Today is Ash Wednesday. The start of the season of Lent. A time of reflection and preparation for Easter. This is the time of the year where we are supposed to be looking at our flaws and how to change those for the better. There is something very special about this time.
This year, as with every year, I give up something. This year, I am also adding something. I am adding a new blog about my trip through lent on a daily basis. It’s a stretch goal, we will see how it goes. I am going to try not to miss a day. I have also givenĀ up logging into Facebook and Twitter. I will still have the automatic postings from this blog, but besides that, I am going dark. For me, it is a matter of spending more time with my family. Filling in what time I would have spent on those sites with people that matter the most to me, that sounds like a rewarding exchange for the next forty days.
I will be trying everyday to bring a better understanding in my life of the journey I am supposed to be undertaking. I will be using this time to reflect on my gifts and how I can better bring them to good use for the Lord. I will be praying for everyone in the next forty days, I ask for your prayers in return.
Great aspirations. Good luck with your Lenten journey.
