The Holy Spirit….

“The Holy Spirit will teach you everything
and remind you of all I told you.” John 14:26

Out of the three in the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit is the one that is overlooked the most, yet it is the one that is still present today. Everything works through the three, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. As a Catholic, we always say before prayer, giving the sign of the Cross in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Still, it is hard to explain or even understand just what that Holy Spirit is.

We tend to forget about things that are not tangible in this world. The Father, we can understand, because even if they are not in our lives, we all know what a father is, or have an idea of what it is supposed to be. Jesus was here on Earth, there are plenty of stories handed down through the Bible and other sources that can support that. The Holy Spirit, while it has always been here, there, it is still a mystery. Like the invisible hand in economics, the Holy Spirit is involved in our daily lives, even if we do not realize it. Because we can not regularly see it, we tend to take for granted that it is even there.

So, the challenge that I am putting forward today, moving into this Memorial Day Weekend, reflect on all the things that have happened in your life, and try to find where the Holy Spirit was at work. Reflect on that this weekend, and pray that you can see the Holy Spirit at work in more clarity in your every day life.
