Togehter As One

Brothers and sisters:
You are no longer strangers and sojourners,
but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones
and members of the household of God,
built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.
Through him the whole structure is held together
and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord;
in him you also are being built together
into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. – Eph 2:19-22

The foundation that is laid was given to us to share and be apart of. We have been entrusted with the power to raise up our God, to help ensure that His temple is firm and sure. Too often we are focused on our own self needs, self interests, and selfish feelings, and forget the fact that we are supposed to apart of the temple, not trying to build one to ourselves. Yes, we need to take care of our needs and time to time we have to put ourselves first. We have to put our own lives in order in order to be the example to others in life. The point I am trying to make is that, quite often, in our technologically advanced state, we get wrapped up in building our own personal temple to ourselves. We tend to forget that God is the real cornerstone to everything, and that our mere wants on Earth are only filling a temporary need. We get caught up wanting everyone to respond to our needs in the manner and fashion that we desire, that we really forget, in reality, we are supposed to be supporting each other, helping each other, and building up the true Kingdom.

We are on this Earth for a very short time. Everyone has been blessed to be here. Everyone has something to contribute to society as a whole, and gifts that have been given to enhance the Kingdom itself. Being compassionate towards others, treating them with dignity and respect, no matter where they may fall in status.. Those are the principles we should be striving for in this world. Helping support each other in the world, and in the holding up of the most high God…. nothing else should come before that.
