It is always sad to see the end of a long weekend come to a close. It was wonderful to spend time with my family. Thanksgiving was a great day with a wonderful dinner prepaired by my wonderful wife. The tree was put up, and all in all, it wasn’t a bad four days.
This year was one of my favorites. For no particular reason, it was better because it was small. We did not have a million places to go, we did not have a million people at the house, it was just nice and enjoyable. It was nice because I had all the people that mean the world to me in one place, and we all had a good day. The kids were great, the wife is one heck of a cook, and my Mom came over. Who really could have asked for a better time? Not this guy.
So, the tree is small, because we have to put it up high… the cats still have tried to attack it, but at least it is harder to get at. I honestly did not buy enough lights for it, nor did I get the green color strands, but hey, I think it looks great. It is nothing extravagant, but it is simple and cute. There is the wonderful angel on top, which was the fascination of my three year old. He loved it, and kept saying that the tree looked beautiful.
So, yes, to me, this was the perfect four day weekend. It was not spent with the masses of people shopping, but it was spent with the people that I love, and for that, I am truly blessed. I could not ask for more in my life. I hope that everyone in the world could experience this at least once in their life.
