Running…..

Brothers and sisters:
Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us
and persevere in running the race that lies before us
while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus,
the leader and perfecter of faith.
For the sake of the joy that lay before him
Jesus endured the cross, despising its shame,
and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God.
Consider how he endured such opposition from sinners,
in order that you may not grow weary and lose heart.
In your struggle against sin
you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood. Heb 12:1-4

Doing what you know is the right thing to do, sometimes makes you look like the enemy to everyone. Understanding that you have to make the decision in the best interest of everything and everyone involved, can make you seem like you have done some of those people around you wrong.  Sometimes, being that person makes you feel about as lonely as anyone can get.

We are all running a race, and we are all in motion, everyday. Some of us are running in the crowd, as if you were the bull running in Barcelona. Others of us are trying to stay ahead of the horns. The rest, well, we are by standards taking care of the wounded and people who have fallen to the wayside.  Getting into the minutia of our day to day job can take away from the overall scheme of things, and why we are even there in the first place.

Let us all take a step back today. Just for one moment and remember, we are all here for a  greater purpose. We do not have to get caught up in the day to day like we have been, we just need to be present in the moment. We can get so tired of everything happening all around us, that we can forget ourselves. It is o.k. to have a cause and to have passion about things, but make sure you are doing them for the right reasons. There is no shame in doing something that is not popular (I write about things that are not popular sometimes), but if they are the right things, then do them. Make sure it is not for a selfish reason. And just remember to take a moment to breathe…..
